Humulene

Humulene (alpha-humulene) is a sesquiterpene with an eleven-membered ring. It is an isomer of beta-caryophyllene, with the same atoms arranged differently, and the two often appear together. It is named after the hop plant, Humulus lupulus, where it is a key aroma compound.

In the Strain Library, humulene is among the measured terpenes of 6,629 of 7,134 strains (93%) and is the largest terpene in 9 strains. Where it was reported, it averaged 0.14% of the flower's weight. The strains with the most of it are Apple Smack (1.00%), Double Solo Burger 1 (0.70%) and Double Solo Burger (0.68%).
